The Terms of Service (ToS) which follow are for the protection of the owners of the Chatroom as well as chatters. The owner of The Protectress-PRG Chat reserves all rights to monitor all chat activity, amend Terms of Service as needed, and preserve privacy for all chatters, mods, and admins. Do not request that we abridge those rights.

Violation of the ToS will not be tolerated.  By being in chat, you agree to abide by the Terms of Service, whether or not you logged in or joined chat under a login initiated by another person.

Chat is intended to be a family-friendly environment.  As such, chatters may not:

• Use Profanity

• Attempt to type around the word filter

• Make remarks of a sexual or sexually suggestive nature

• Post links in chat which lead to pages containing profanity, adult photographs or graphics, pornographic material, or items which are not family-friendly.

• Post links to photographs of any individual under the age of 18.

• Spam chat with links.

• Flood chat with emoticons or text.

• Private Message (PM) chatters without permission from the receiving chatter (except where there is a security issue, problem or emergency, in which case you may PM a moderator without permission).

• Make intolerant remarks with regard to race, religion, age, sex or sexual orientation.  Any such remarks are grounds for immediate banning by a moderator.

• Flaming, degrading or badmouthing any individual or group.  This will not be tolerated.

Non-Argumentative Chat

• While we fully understand that debate is often commonplace when discussing the paranormal, there is a difference between respectful debate and argument.  Arguments will not be tolerated.

• Chatters are expected to give the respect they in turn expect to receive.  Disrespect will not be tolerated. Chatters with a history of attack or persistent disrespect in this or other chat rooms and/or historical non-compliance with ISP and addonchat's Terms of Service will be banned before or upon entry.

• As with arguments of a paranormal nature, argument over religion or religious practices will not be tolerated.  This is an area that too easily heated and while respectful debate is permitted, it is strongly suggested that this one be left at the chat door.

• Just as religious debates are volatiles issues, so is proselytization, from anyone.  It will not be tolerated.

Other Terms of Service

• This chat room, while accessible to the world, is based in the United States of America.  As such, it is expected that chatters will speak English in chat.  If you need a translator, you can find a free one at http://babelfish.altavista.com Languages other than English in open chat are not permitted.

• AddonChat, the creators of the Chat software, have their own Terms of Service, which are made part of The Protectress-PRG Chat ToS and may be found here:  http://www.addonchat.com/terms.html

 Please note that this Chatroom is privately owned and funded, and employs the use of Moderators (visible, invisible and silent).  As such:

• You are reminded that you are agreeing to the Terms of Service by being in chat, even if you did not log in but are in chat under someone else's previous login.

• Arguing over the Terms of Service, word filter list, or other aspects of chat will not be tolerated.  The rules are there for a reason.  Please do not push.  There is no Constitutional Right to Chat.  Arguing with a moderator will just get you banned.

• Comments made by chatters are the responsibility of the commenter and may not reflect the views or positions of The Protectress-PRG Chat, its owner, admins, moderators, members, associates, successors and/or assigns.  The Protectress-PRG Chat, et als, will not be held responsible for comments or actions made in chat.
